The cult-memorial complex of Sultan Saodat
The cult-memorial complex of Sultan Saodat was created in a period from the XIIth to the XVIIth centuries; it is a family tomb of Termez Seyids. Till our time remained mausoleums dated to different times, mosques and khаnaka`s made of a burnt brick. They form a long yard.
Two mausoleums, connected by a deep vaulted ayvan, are the basis of a complex. Since the XVth century it has been as a funeral mosque, in its frontal wall located mihrab.
Mausoleums are presented in the form of centric composition and are covered by wide domes on an octahedron of arches and arch sails. Scientists assume that these mausoleums date to the XIth -XIIth centuries.
There are entrances to the northern building gur-khana (mausoleum) and to the southern - ziyarat-khana in lateral walls of ayvan. The eastern part of ayvan creates the main facade of the construction. It was a parade one. In its main part was a high portal, and in its wings were located symmetric flat arch niches. The facade of a building was fixed by a brick with impregnations of carved "bows" which were covered by turquoise glaze. Also it was possible to see a "fir-tree" laying, strips of figured carved bricks, geometrical and vegetative motives. Window apertures were closed in due time ganch lattices. Ziyarat-hana is simpler. Walls are constructed from a brick by a pair laying.
Today, in the whole territory of gur-hana are located similar rectangular gravestones, because of them this room is called a mausoleum in the scientific literature. In the second half of the XIVth -XVth centuries there were carried out construction works. Constructions started to collapse in the XIXth century.
