The Tashkent television tower
The Tashkent television tower is the highest among the same type of structure in the Central Asia.
Its height reaches 375 meters. Construction of television tower began in 1978 and proceeded next 6 years. The tower has opened for visitors on 15th of January 1985.
The Tashkent television tower is on 11 place among more than 200 towers of the world, also it takes the second place on height among the CIS states after the Ostankino television tower. In 1991 it was included into the Federation of Great towers of the world.
The main tasks of the Tashkent television tower is a telecasting and broadcasting. Besides the television tower is applied to realize communication among the various ministries and departments. This unique architectural construction is visited by inhabitants and visitors of the capital. Professional guides lead excursions there. During these excursions visitors can get acquainted with history of creation of a television tower in three languages: Uzbek, Russian and English.
The design of this unique construction was developed by architects N.G.Terziev-Tsarukov, D.J.Semashko, and also engineers E.P. Morozov and M.D.Musheev.
s foyer is decorated by a mosaic panel. It was made in the roman and florentine style by master A.Burhabaev. Also in foyers breadboard models of towers which are included in Association of Great Towers of the World.
In the television tower there are three high-speed lifts of firm "Schindler" which quickly lift visitors on height of 100 meters.
In the Tashkent television tower there is restaurant "Koinot" (Space). It is possible to admire a panorama of Tashkent there. There are two halls: national "Blue" (height 105) and European "Red" (height 110) at the restaurant. In halls the half-platform with seats which is turned round a tower trunk. At restaurant visitors can try national and European dishes. In bars are found extensive assortment of drinks.
Romantic and festive atmosphere creates live music.
