Fergana is one of the most ancient cultural oases of Central Asia. The Fergana valley is an intermountain depression in Central Asia, between the mountain systems of the Tien-Shan in the north and the Gissar-Alai in the south. The valley is approximately 300 km long; its width is 60-140 km. The Fergana Valley is rich in natural resources, including gold, oil, copper, etc. The Sir-Darya, one of the great rivers of Central Asia, runs across the valley. It is fed by more than 70 mountain streams. Thus, Fergana is most densely populated region of Uzbekistan.
Fergana delights with its diversity of colors. You will see dark-grey desert sands, turquoise-green cotton fields, and picturesque mountain ridges covered with perpetual snow.
This journey to the blooming Fergana will help you to discover such well-known ancient cities as Tashkent, Fergana, Margilan, Rishtan and Kokand.  Get acquainted with our unique architecture, arts and crafts, which bear deep symbolical meaning. Rich ornamental system is closely related to the intimate core of spiritual life, imagination and poetic perception of our people.  There is nothing random in the ornaments and color spectrum of ceramics, traditional embroidery – suzane, hand-painted fabrics – batic, wooden articles.  They are always full of strife for peace and kindness, wise perception of surrounding world.
